West Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) — The West Baton Rouge Parish School Board went forward with plans to hire an architect to draw a preliminary proposal for an expansion at Brusly Elementary School.
West Baton Rouge Parish Superintendent David Corona says the plans would include more classrooms, restroom and storage units, plus a bus and car loading access point.
The drawing would allow the parish school board to assess how big and how costly the new project could be.
Currently, 700 students attend that school.
Corona says the school system is also looking into a building a new Brusly High School north of its current campus.
He says the school board approved a plan to pay for a foot print plan of how much land would be needed. The new school would use current the athletic facility. Corona says the new high school won't be happening until much later.
