State superintendent John White is visiting schools all over the state as part of his “Louisiana Believes” tour.

His message: "All students can achieve."

Today, he was in Lafayette, where he met with area educators and superintendents.

He spoke to them about possibilities for students after they graduate high school.

"It's important we get more kids to our universities, and it's important we get more kids through our universities,” stated Whtie, “but it's equally important that we have kids pursuing rigorous technical training so they can take positions in our economy today."

White said that Louisiana is in the middle of a huge job boom and by rewarding schools that provide great job training and by helping educators prepare their students, we can make sure our students are ready to take those jobs.
