East Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) — A study paid for by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber assessed the economic impact schools leaving the EBR School System.
Every time a new district is formed in EBR, it shrinks the tax base for the rest of the school district.
In the last legislative session, the Southeast School District narrowly lost its bid to start a new school district. Baker, Zachary and Central have all formed their own school districts.
