JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (NBC33) — In Jefferson Parish, youngsters at the almost 80 schools parish schools are gearing up for longer days.
It's to make up for time lost during Hurricane Isaac when most schools didn't have class for a week. Starting now and lasting through March 1, 2013 the school day will be half an hour longer.
Administrators chose the longer days over making up days around holidays as other school systems have opted for doing.
