Students at Glen Oaks seek real life impact of distracted, drunk driving
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Students at Glen Oaks were given a real life experience today with a “Sudden Impact” seminar.
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for young people. This program hopes to curb those numbers by teaching students the dangers of drunk and distracted driving.
"They're able to get into the trauma center and see what happens after a crash occurs,” Trooper Russ Graham, Louisiana State Police, explained. “They're able to see what trauma is and what causes that."
State police hope the program will open students' eyes, and help reduce the number of accidents involving young people.
