The group ‘Stand For Children’ raised their voices together at the East Baton Rouge School Board office, hoping to be heard. The group got together for an impromptu flash mob to promote some of their ideals.

Leaders and parents said they're pushing for accountability and quality in public schools. They hope to see teachers held to high standards and quality teachers put in to low performing schools. With the legislative session closing in the group is hoping to see action on laws that support these same ideas.

"We're currently moving into the legislative session and with that obviously a lot of things are going to be pushed, and I would hope we could move aside adult agendas and really focus on our kids," explained Kadieja Thompson, a parent with the group.

With over 900 bills already filed for this session, Thompson and others like her hope some will work toward the quality she wants in her daughters’ schools. Bills have already been filed to combat some of the education laws that passed last year.
