Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A new program is on the way to Southern University, and it's happening online.

Southern has announced plans for an accelerated online version of their nursing program, which is set to start in august.

Chancellor James Llorens says it addresses the need for the program and will help bring much needed money into the Baton Rouge campus.

Nurses with an associate degree, have a year of experience, and a 2.6 grade point average are eligible for the online program.
