Scott Norton to leave state's Department of Education

Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The man in charge is the state's school testing and accountability is leaving the Louisiana State Department of Education.
Scott Norton is leaving for Washington D.C.
That's where he'll be working for the Council of Chief State School Officers as the Strategic Initiative Director for Standards, Assessments, and Accountability.
Before accepting that position, Norton has worked with the state's DOE for almost 20 years. His last day is set for july 13th.
