RSD superintendent says both parents and teachers are needed to improve schools

Monday, November 7, 2011 - 8:14pm

Recovery School District Superintendent John White discussed the benefits of charter schools.

The superintendent made an appearance at the Baton Rouge Press Club to talk about the progress his district and charter schools have made in New Orleans. He also gave tips on how EBR schools could have the same success. He said this success can only come from giving teachers and parents the resources they need.

The Recovery School District was created in 2003 to take over underperforming schools. The RSD now runs schools in Orleans, East Baton Rouge, Caddo and Point Coupee parishes.
