Members of the LSU and greater Baton Rouge communities can use their leisure time to discover a new craft, polish a skill or learn to play a sport or musical instrument without investing a lot of time or money. The summer 2013 LSU Student Union Leisure Class brochure and registration form are now available online at www.lsu.edu/leisureclasses.

Included in the summer 2013 LSU Student Union Leisure Class schedule are more than 75 non-credit, personal enrichment classes, with 12 new and seasonal classes. Registration for all classes will continue until the class is full or the class starts, whichever comes first.

Leisure Classes have something for everyone with classes in the following categories: communication and language, crafts, drawing and painting, family, fiber arts, fitness and sports, food and spirits, fun and games, home and garden, jewelry, outdoors, performing arts, photography, pottery and sculpture, textile arts and writing.

New classes include “Abstract Natural Forms,” “Almond Milk & Green Smoothies,” “Batik,” “Boating: Emergencies on Board,” “Casino Craps & Blackjack,” “Feng Shui for Love,” “Healthy Desserts,” “Leather Crafting: Lacing and Braiding,” “Scotch Tasting,” “Stroller Fitness,” “Spanish: Kids Only” and “The Backyard Birder.”

Classes are small and spaces fill up quickly so those interested in participating are encouraged to register early. Prices are reasonable and discounts are available to LSU students, their parents and Leisure Classes members.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, personal checks and cash are accepted. To request a free copy of the summer 2013 brochure, to register for classes or to obtain more information regarding membership, visit to www.lsu.edu/leisureclasses, call (225) 578-5119 or visit Room 107 in the LSU Student Union Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
