The Recovery School District (RSD) is excited to announce the launch of the 2013-2014 enrollment process for its seven schools located in the Baton Rouge Achievement Zone.

Families can use the 2013-2014 application to apply to any RSD school in the Achievement Zone by ranking the schools in order of preference. Applications can be found at participating schools, online at, or at the RSD Central Office located at 4055 Prescott Road.

The RSD encourages parents to learn about what each school has to offer by looking at school profiles featured on Parents are also encouraged to visit the individual schools, talk to principals, attend parent meetings, and participate in any community enrollment event offered in the Achievement Zone.

“We are excited about the upcoming school year and we look forward to continuing our work to create high-quality school options for our Achievement Zone students,” said Patrick Dobard, Superintendent of the RSD. “As we re-enroll our current students, we urge new families to take advantage of the great things happening in our schools and visit to learn how to enroll.”

First round applications will be accepted through May 15th, with placement letters arriving soon after June 3rd. Families that do not meet the May 15th deadline can complete applications throughout the summer. These placement notifications will be sent within two weeks of application submission.

The RSD will work to place all students in their family’s school of choice. Priority for placement will go to those applicants who have siblings currently enrolled at their school of choice. Any student choosing to remain at their current RSD school still needs to complete the application form and return it to their current school. These students will be guaranteed a place at that school for the upcoming school year.

Questions about the application process should be directed to the School Operations Manager or principal at the family’s school of choice or to the RSD Central Office. The RSD Central Office is located at 4055 Prescott Road, Baton Rouge, LA and can be reached at 225-239-7500.
