BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Southern University has a new police chief. Former Police Captain Ronald Stevens is the school's new top cop.

Stevens was with the Baton Rouge Police Department for almost thirty years. For the past three, he's been an investigator for the Attorney General’s Office.

Stevens will start his new job later this month.
