Miss Southern to be crowned and honored at Homecoming game
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Baton Rouge native and Christian Life Academy graduate Chisolu Isiadinso will be crowned Miss Southern University 2011-2012 during the 81st Miss Southern Coronation at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the F. G. Clark Activity Center.
The coronation is free and open to the public. Formal attire is required.
Furthermore, Isiadinso and the 2011 Homecoming Court will be honored during a special pre-game ceremony Saturday, Oct. 29 at 4:45 p.m. in A. W. Mumford Stadium.
Isiadinso, a 21-year-old Baton Rouge native and graduate of Christian Life Academy, is a senior honor student, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. She is on the Dean’s List and was elected Sophomore Class Senator 2009-2010 and Miss Junior 2010-2011.
She is a member of the Dolores Margaret Richard Spikes Honors College, Alpha Mu Gamma National Foreign Language Honor’s Society, the National Institute of Science, is listed among Who’s Who Among Colleges and Universities and is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
Isiadinso is the Executive Director of Southern’s chapter of Up ‘Til Dawn, a collegiate fundraising program for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is also the Executive Director of Save Our Southern (SOS), a program to raise funds for Southern students.
After graduation, Isiadinso plans to pursue a Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Management Degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
Members of her court include: Amber Jarrell, Miss Senior, a Biology major from Baker and graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School; Jemiela Castleberry, Miss Junior, a Social Work major from Bogalusa and graduate of Bogalusa High School; Ayanna Spivey, Miss Sophomore, a Social Work major from Moreno Valley, Calif. and graduate of Vista Del Lago High School; and Shanice Sam, Miss Freshman, a Therapeutic Recreation major from Maurice and a graduate of North Vermilion High School.
