BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — LSU's School of Social Work has helped East Baton Rouge Parish land a $1.5 million grant for the BRAVE project.
The BRAVE project is primarily focused on the 70805 zip code in Baton Rouge and is an effort to curtail crime in the city's most dangerous zip code.
LSU's Office of Social Service Research and Development is working on implementing research and training components of the project.
LSU will receive BRPD data monthly to look at why certain crimes are happening in certain areas. They'll also plot where crimes are happening to help police.
