Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — LSU has dropped in the latest college rankings from U.S. News and World Report.
LSU is ranked 134 this year; that's compared to 128 last year.
The report is based on a variety of factors like student retention, giving of alumni and a rating review by peers.
Some students told us the lower ranking doesn't come as a big surprise.
"It is a little frustrating. I came here expecting a lot, and I came here my freshman year and it’s declined. But, I am hoping we can bring it back up, and I think we can," stated sophomore Handly Maton.
The university says the report is a great way for students and parents to decide on colleges.
The rank-dropping doesn’t mean the school is any worse than previous years, just that they need to improve in some areas.
