LSU Ag gets 17-million to turn sugarcane to biofuel
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The LSU AG Center announced on Thursday, Sept. 29 that they program is getting federal dollars for new biofuel research.
17-million dollars of federal cash will go to help turn Louisiana sugar cane into a renewable energy source. The money comes from the US Department of Agriculture.
LSU's research is one of five biofuel projects in the country selected for funding. All of the research is focused on developing aviation biofuel out of grass, crop residue and forests.
