BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Good news from the Department of Education. Louisiana is one of only eight states to get money to help special needs programs.
The state will see $6 million over the next five years. That means a little more than a million dollars each year. The money goes toward improving programs that educate children with disabilities.
The grant is from the US Department of Education. About 12 percent of school children in the state get special education services.
