Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Governor Bobby Jindal announced a three-goal plan to help give children living in Louisiana a chance for better education.
The first goal is to get better teachers into every classroom. Jindal wants to add a new assessment program to better evaluate teachers.
Next, the governor says parents need more options of where to send their kids to school.
The final part allows school districts more flexibility in deciding what methods work best to teach kids in their area.
Jindal says the best way to boost education is bring change, not continue outdated practices.
In January, the governor plans to release a more comprehensive outline of his plan, just in time for the legislative session.
