Governor Jindal against any attempt to limit TOPS grants

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — At their last meeting the Governance Commission suggested giving all students a flat grant amount. Governor Jindal says he’s against any attempt to limit TOPS grants.
The Commission wants two levels for TOPS; one for community colleges, the other for four-year schools.
The governor says TOPES should not have any maximum amount.
For any change to TOPS, it needs to pass the state house and senate, then go to the governor for a signature.
Governor Jindal has been against similar bills in the past.
