Five new LSU Board members take office

Baton Rouge, La — Five new members of the LSU Board of Supervisors have been sworn into office.
Taking the oath of office during the Board's meeting Friday in Baton Rouge were Ann Duplessis of New Orleans, representing the Second Congressional District; Stanley Jacobs of New Orleans, representing the First Congressional District; Dr. John George, Jr. of Shreveport, representing the Fourth Congressional District; Rolfe McCollister of Baton Rouge, representing the Sixth Congressional District; and Justin Mannino of Baton Rouge, who is the student representative on the 16-member governing board.
Duplessis and McCollister, who previously served on the board, were appointed by Gov. Bobby Jindal to new six-year terms. Dr. George and Jacobs were reappointed to new terms after their terms ran out June 1st. Mannino, a third-year law student, was elected to a one-year term on the board by fellow student government leaders from other LSU institutions.
Stanley, an attorney, is Managing Partner of Jacobs, Manuel, Kain & Aamodt in New Orleans. Duplessis is the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Orleans, and is a former Louisiana State Senator. Dr. George is the Owner and Manager of G6 Management and was a co-founder of LifeCare Management Service, LLC. McCollister is president and founder of Louisiana Business, Inc. which publishes the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report (since 1982), 225 magazine, inRegister magazine and Daily Report online news. He previously served on the LSU Board of Supervisors from 1988 to 1994.
