EBR superintendent interviews

The first three candidates of six llooking to become the next East Baton Rouge school superintendent were interviewed Wednesday.

Interviews lasted two hours each; the first hour was for questions from the School Board, the second hour was opened up for questions from the public.

Kelt Cooper was first up.  He's the superintendent over 10,000 students in Del Rio, Texas.  Elliot Smalley was second.  He is the strategy and communications director for Charleston, S.C. schools.  Last was Samuel King, the superintendent of schools in Rockdale, Ga., outside of Atlanta.

The final three candidates will be interviewed on Monday.
