Eight year old Brinin David was one of 37 students from East Baton Rouge Parish, who couldn't wait to wake up early on their Thanksgiving vacation to make a trip to LSU's campus. They went on a tour of Tiger Stadium, got up close and personal with Mike the Tiger and even got a chance to talk with a few of the football players.

"When you meet them, they actually played and they introduce you and they're real nice to you," says David.

"At an early age put the post-secondary education type of view in their mind so that they know they can pursue greater things after grade school that these opportunities exist. It's not out of reality for them," says Nicole Scott of the Big Buddy Program.

The fun and learning aren't over though. The kids will get to, among other things, get a tour of campus and get to see athletes practice over the next couple of days It's all about having them realize their dreams are within reach.

"A lot of my kids here they're aiming to be athletes. They want to be football players. They're kind of looking at that component of if I get the good grades, if I stay in school I get to go to LSU and be an athlete at LSU,” says Scott.

"A lot of fun," says David.
