East Baton Rouge Parish (NBC33) — 44,000 students in East Baton Rouge Parish went back to school today.

Today, enough teachers were in class for the system to open to students.

Over 1,200 teachers requested substitute teachers yesterday to attend education talks at the State Capitol.

The EBR School System simply didn't have enough substitute teachers to handle the demand, which forced the closure.
