All the EBR Schools students and their families, as well as community members and employees, are invited to help the district kick off the 2013-2014 school year in style at the Back to School Expo from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, at Cortana Mall.

There will be information about registration, school programs, school bus routes and assignments and much more.

In addition, the district will be showing off the talents of some of its artistic students -- from singing and dancing to visual artwork. Plus, many area businesses have donated terrific prizes for giveaways throughout the day – from expensive perfume gift sets and cash gift cards to computers, jewelry and more. Tickets for the giveaways will be given out in goodie bags or be available at the stage near JC Penney’s mall entrance. Winners must be present at various drawings throughout the event to receive the prizes, however. Donations have been made by Cortana Mall and other area businesses.

Cox and Cortana Mall are some of the main sponsors, but other community partners also will be represented – including YMCA, the Academic Distinction Fund, BREC, Capital One Bank, Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Neighbors Credit Union and many more. In fact, Cox will hand out 500 bags of free school supplies and give away some updated computers.

Cox also is hosting a live radio remote with Q106.5 FM.

School starts August 12, and students and parents will want to be fully prepared. Get all the information you need to do just that Saturday, August 3, at Cortana Mall.
