EBR schools holds application period for new Lee High Magnet school seats in 2013-2014

April 15 through May 24, the Office of Innovation and Specialized Programs of East Baton Rouge Schools will be accepting online student applications to attend the Lee High Magnet School in 2013-2014. The applications are open to students who will be in grades 9-11 next year and who are interested in:

• Multi-Media Design
• Digital Media
• Engineering

In the next school year, Lee High School will become a dedicated magnet school with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for grades 9-12. A Visual Performing Arts component will be added when the school moves into its rebuilt school site.

Students can apply online at http://www.ebrmagnet.org/apply/ and following the directions. Once the online application is compete, applicants should print out the signature page and deliver it to the Office of Magnet Programs, 1050 S. Foster Dr., within three days of completing the application online.

To qualify, those interested in applying who will be in grades 9-11 next year must:
• Complete a career cluster survey (to determine if a component of the program is appropriately based on student interests)
• Complete an interview
• Submit a portfolio for the multimedia and digital design components
• Complete an interview

Applicants will be notified by mail of acceptance or waiting pool status.
