The Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired spent part of their day helping to raise awareness for those who have trouble seeing.

It was part of White Cane Safety Day in downtown Baton Rouge. People with visual impairments spent the day handing out brochures and going on a scavenger hunt. They even blindfolded some people to let them experience what it's like to not be able to see.

"We want everyone else to know what it is like to be us and walk around see it's like crossing streets, seeing what we have to go through to make them more aware of us when we're crossing the streets and so like they'll pay more attention to us as pedestrians," Lenron Brown, participant in the event, said.

White Cane day took place all across the country. It's been around for almost 40 years.
