Ulysses Joseph is Baker's newest Superintendent of Schools. He was elected unanimously by the Baker School Board on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Joseph had been the Interim Superintendent for the school district since January. One of his goals is to bring better teachers and principals into the school district.

"We need our parents to make sure that you set aside time for study for your children and make sure they do what is required of them here at school as far as discipline, as afar as study and if we do that we're going to do well," Joseph said after accepting the position.

Estes Taplin was the previous Superintendent for the Baker school system.
