BATON ROUGE, La (EBR Sheriff’s Office) -- East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Detectives are looking for a man who stole a gun from Jim’s Firearms on Siegen Lane November 4 at approximately 5:44 p.m.

According to reports, employees noticed the gun, valued at approximately $6,000, missing from a display case two days after the man took it. The gun is a "signature series" Wilson Combat Arms 1911 .45 ACP Pistol. It has gold inlay on the slides, ivory grips, and color case hardening on the slides.

Detectives viewed surveillance footage and observed an adult black male enter the store with three young children. The children moved throughout the store, and one asked employees for a donation for a sports team, while the man removed the pistol from an unlocked display case. The man exited the store, and the children exited shortly after.
