The search continues for the inmate who escaped from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Authorities say Jeremy Ricard is one of two men who hopped over the jail’s protective fence Tuesday.

Thursday night authorities in Port Allen chased a suspicious car that eventually crashed into the Audobon Inn.

Authorities say 26-year-old Leonard Thomas was arrested.
They say Ricard ran off into a densely wooded area.

Search crews scoured the air and on the ground but couldn’t track him down.

Friday afternoon, detectives realized the vehicle the duo wrecked in belonged to a Mac Arthur Hale Jr., the man who was shot and killed the morning before at the Centurion Arms apartments in Baton Rouge.

But it doesn't end there-- West Baton Rouge authorities say Friday morning Ricard robbed two people at gunpoint and stole their white Chevy crew cab at a truck stop off LA-415.

"They readily gave it to him because they say the gun barrell looked like it was really big" says Tommy Sciro, and investigator for the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities say they don’t know where Ricard went from there.
Investigators asked law enforcement from Texas to Mississippi to be on the look out.

"You might be stopped at a light and he may decide he wants to switch cars so he pulls a gun on you" Sciro warns.

Jeremy Ricards’ mug shot is now up on billboards across the state.
Authorities are asking anyone with any information on his whereabouts to come forward but they do not want anyone to approach him.
