Drug Laden Bible Smuggled Into Jail

In the early morning hours of May 12, 2010 a woman, wearing a pink hat and using a false name, delivered a Bible containing “meth” to the Livingston Parish Detention Center. The resulting investigation led to the arrests of intended recipient of the drugs and the two women responsible for delivery of the contraband.
Harvey LeBlanc, Jr., a 30 year old white male who listed his address as 36720 North Corbin Road, Walker, La., was charged as follows:
>1 Count Attempting to Enter Contraband into a Penal Institution
>1 Count Attempted Possession of Schedule II CDS
LeBlanc has been in jail since October of 2009 on a variety of charges including creation of a meth lab. His current bond is set @ $75,000.00
Melissa A. Lennox, a 28 year old white female who listed her address as 420 Carrie Drive Apt # 103 Walker, La., is charged as follows:
>1 Count of Entering Contraband into a Penal Institution
Lennox was identified as the woman in the pink hat who actually delivered the Bible containing “meth.” Her current bond is set @ $25,000.00.
Nikki C. Rushing, a 35 year old white female who listed her address as 30055 Corby Circle Denham Springs, La. was charged as follows:
>1 Count of Principal to Entering Contraband into a Penal Institution
Rushing admitted giving the Bible with drugs to Lennox.
Her current bond is set @ $25,000.00.
As of May 18, 2010 @ 10:00 am all three remain in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
