ORIGINAL: East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at approximatelly 7:30 this morning at 12400 Jefferson Hwy at Jefferson Lakes Apartments in reference to a found child.

Right now, the little girl is in the care of the Office of Child Services and EBR Parish Deputies. We're told she has special needs, and she's not able to communicate with the people caring for her. So, they haven't been able to figure out who her parents or guardians are. At this point, no one has reported the little girl missing. The little girl is safe and in good care presently.

The little girl appears to be about  4 or 5 years old. Deputies have been unable to locate the child's guardian(s). She was found wearing blue "Dora" pajama bottoms and a child's size Southern University t-shirt.

Detectives are asking the public for help identifying this child and her parents or guardian(s). Anyone with information please call the Sheriff's Office at 389-5061.
