NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Weekend comments by rocker Ted Nugent have caught the attention of the political community.
At the National Rifle Association convention on Saturday, April 14, Nugent called President Obama and other administration figures "criminals."
He leveled other harsh criticisms of the Obama administration calling it "vile," "evil," and "America-hating."
"And we've got a president and an Attorney General who doesn’t even like the constitution,” Nugent said. “We've got four Supreme Court Justices who don't believe in the constitution.
“If you can't galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, we're done. We'll be a suburb of Indonesia next year.
“Our President, Attorney General, our Vice President, Hillary Clinton - they're criminals, they're criminals.
“We are Braveheart. We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November."
Nugent also said that "I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year" if the president is reelected.
The president's spokesman called comments like these "noise" and a Mitt Romney spokeswoman issued a statement saying the candidate believes everyone needs to be civil.
Nugent tweeted in March that he was backing Mitt Romney and implied the men had a conversation before the endorsement. And Romney seemed to embrace the support in a radio interview a few days later.
Nugent is a long time hunting and gun rights advocate.
