Rain and wind picked up around Tampa overnight, bringing the threat of flooding even as Tropical Storm Isaac moves away from the coast.

Republicans are hoping the weather won't completely steal the show as Mitt Romney tries to make his case that he can do a better job than President Obama.

Insiders admit to win this election Romney's got to improve his "likeablity" - that's one of the reasons why they're here.

This afternoon they'll officially open the convention, then recess five minutes later and come back Tuesday.

By then, they hope the focus will be on Romney, not Isaac.
