President Obama spoke with students at the University of Iowa.

His goal was to talk to students about the importance of keeping student loan interest rates down.

During his speech, the President said he and the First Lady were able to receive a good education as a result of scholarships and student loans.

The President also criticized members of Congress for comparing student loans to cancer and for calling the loans a distraction from the economy.

"Now think about that for a second because these guys don't get it,” said Obama. “This is the economy. This is the economy. This is about your job security. This is about your future. If you do well, the economy does well. This is about the economy."

The Iowa City event was the final stop of a two-day, three campus tour.
