With the race to the White House in full force, there seems to be a divide in how younger and older adults view the presidential candidates.

A new USA Today poll reports most seniors 65 and older support Mitt Romney, while adults under the age of 30 back President Obama.

Two-thirds of seniors polled say the government is trying to do too much, while only 25 percent of poll takers say it's doing too little to solve problems. However, 47 percent of young adults say the government is doing too little, and 52 percent who say it does too much.

The poll shows the generation gap is especially pronounced on the issue of same sex marriage. Almost 60 percent of adults under 30 say the next president should work to legalize gay marriage nationwide. Fewer than 25 percent of seniors agree.
