East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies surprised some 400 students at Dalton Elementary Friday morning.

The kids and their parents packed the school auditorium to hear from Sheriff Sid Gautreaux and his deputies. The presents were bought with money donated by Holiday Helpers. The delivery came as a request by the school for kids in need.

"It is so God, it's a God given for the children, the schools so much appreciated, Dalton Elementary, and the children love it, and they are celebrating it with all their hearts," says grandparent Henrietta Scott.

It was all part of the EBR Sheriff's Christmas Crusade. In all, the department delivered presents to 3,000 needy children in the parish.
