Almost 150 women from all along the gulf coast spent Tuesday on Capital Hill. They're pushing for legislation that would help save the Gulf Coast. The Women of the Storm are a group from all 5 Gulf Coast states. They made their way to Capital Hill to meet with leaders on several environmental committees. They're goal is to have congress to pass legislation that would take 80% of BP's fines and put them in a Gulf Coast Restoration Fund. The women of the storm - along with Louisiana members of Congress say it's something that has to happen.

By law - almost $3 million of BP's fines have to go into an oil spill liability trust fund. Any money from BP after that cap is met could go into the US General Fund. That means money from bp could go to projects far away from the Gulf Coast.

Two bills have been presented in the US House of Representatives. Right now, there are no bills in the Senate.
