VALDEZ, Ak (NBC33) -  It's been over 20 years since the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.   The people of Valdez say they've moved on.  They say some aspects of life are back to normal, but others are a "new normal".

Dorothy Moore has lived in Valdez for decades.  She says getting back to normal involves some people and industries changing their definition of what "normal" is.

"It was a very difficult time some people had to change their way of living", says Moore.

And she says that's what's going to need to happen in the Gulf for live to get back to some sense of "normal".

And Moore says she based on her experience in Vadlez, she has hope for people all along the Gulf Coast.  "I'm not saying one morning they're gonna wake up and everythings gonna be rosy and oh its great like it was 10 years ago but - I think they can do it."
