LOUISIANA (WVLA) A permanent cement plus has finally sealed the BP well for good. The report was issued earlier today by retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen.
It’s been five months since the Deep Water Horizon explosion occurred on Thursday, April 20. Ever since that fateful day that claimed the lives of eleven workers, the deep water well site leaked an estimated 4.9 million barrels of oil out into the Gulf.
Eighty-three percent of Louisiana waterways have been reopened for commercial fishing, but the damage done will take much longer to repair than the oil that remains to be collected or burned.
