BAKER, LA (NBC33) — An 18-year-old woman was arrested on Christmas Day for allegedly killing her brother during an argument.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 25 at a home on McHugh Road. We’re told Tomeka Lathers, 18, allegedly stabbed her brother, Dominque, 22, in the neck during an argument.

Dominque allegedly choked his sister during the altercation. She then went to the kitchen and picked up a knife. When the verbal argument continued, she used the knife to stab him. After the stabbing, Tomeka fled the scene and was located several houses away.

Dominque was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Tomeka was arrested and charged with Manslaughter. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
