Woman robbed at gunpoint after suspect rammed her vehicle in line at bank

LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: On September 23, 2013, detectives with the Lafayette Police Department arrested Marcus Sam, 39, of Lafayette and charged him with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
The case remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL: A woman was robbed at gunpoint after a man rammed her vehicle while she was making a deposit at a Lafayette bank.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 21 shortly before 5:00 p.m. The victim was in line at a bank located in the 3100 block of Louisiana Avenue when the suspect rammed the back of her car.
“The victim drove and parked at a nearby parking lot, at which time the suspect approached her vehicle and began attempting to break her driver’s side window,” Cpl. Paul Mouton, Lafayette Police Department, said. “After several unsuccessful attempts to break the windows on the vehicle, the suspect fired a single shot from a handgun through the window.”
Officials say the victim sustained minor injuries from the robbery.
The suspect grabbed the woman’s deposit bag and fled the area in a black Lincoln Continental truck.
The suspect is described as a black male 5’10” and 200 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a bandana over his face.
