Lafayette investigators confirm to NBC33 News that they have found 29 year old Bethany Arceneaux. She's being treated at a hospital and is expected to be OK.

Scott Thomas, 29, of Leonville has died. Police say Thomas kidnapped Arceneaux. It's unclear at this point how Thomas died, and detectives say they are continuing their investigation. We're told there were ongoing search efforts by family members in conjunction with local authorities. Investigators say Arceneaux was located near Duson, LA.

On November 6 at around 5:20 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to a kidnapping incident in the 500 block of Madeline Avenue.

According to witnesses, the suspect, Scott Thomas, 29, of Leonville, arrived at a daycare on Madeline Avenue and confronted his child’s mother, Bethany Arceneaux, 29.

Thomas allegedly forced the Arceneaux into his vehicle and fled the scene.

Their 2-year-old child was left inside of the victim’s vehicle at the daycare.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the suspect’s vehicle, a white older model Buick LeSabre, was located unoccupied on Anderson Road in Lafayette Parish.

We'll continue to track this story, and we'll bring you new information as we uncover it.
