BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — THIS IS AN NBC33 NEWS UPDATE: The deceased victim that was found lying near a dumpster at 9910 Gwenadele Ave has been identified as Kristin Lynn Granier, 30, 304 South 17th St. Investigators also learned that Granier was a prostitute working that area. The exact cause of death is still unknown at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Baton Rouge Police Department has just confirmed that a woman was found dead this morning; her body located next to a dumpster.

Officials say this case has been ruled a homicide. That’s because the unidentified female was partially clothed, and a shoe string was tied around her neck.

The incident happened just after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22. The woman was found at the Motel 6 located at 9901 Gwenadele Ave. in Baton Rouge.
