Woman busted with nearly $80,000 worth of prescription pills

Lake Charles, LA — On May 18, at approximately 6:00 a.m., an officer with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (CAT) conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation near mile marker 14 eastbound on I-10.
The officer noticed the driver of the car, Sharon Leblanc, 44, acting suspiciously.
After receiving permission to search the car, the officer and his K9 “Mako” found that the front passenger side airbag cover had been tampered with, and found 8 clear zip lock bags, containing a total of 7,684 pills identified as (Alprazolam / Xanax), with an estimated street value of $80,000.
Leblanc was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS IV. Leblanc’s bond was set at $15,000 by Judge Savoie.
