LAKE CHARLES, LA — On Friday, March 30, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a local hospital after receiving a complaint from the Office of Elderly Protective Services regarding the welfare of a 78 year old woman.
When detectives arrived, they discovered during an examination by doctors, the woman was found to have suffered from a fractured rib with a slight displacement.
During the investigation it was revealed family member Yolanda A. Hawley, 35, of Lake Charles, had thrown the elderly victim to the floor of her home and struck her several times with her hands, causing the fracture.
