BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Baton Rouge police arrested a woman who is accused of hitting a child with her car and driving away.
Maigan Scott, 20, was booked on charges of Hit and Run Driving, Negligent Injuring, Driver License Required, Insurance Required and Switched License Plate.
According to Cpl. Don Coppola, a BRPD spokesman, Scott was driving a tan Oldsmobile Cutlass on Washington Avenue at 4:30 p.m. when she hit a six-year-old girl who was riding a bicycle. Scott allegedly did not stop to help the girl, instead driving to a home on N. 18th Street.
Officers found the car at the residence, which led to Scott's arrest.
The girl was taken to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
