SLIDELL, LA (NBC33) — A Mississippi woman was arrested for DWI twice over the weekend in less than 24-hours.
The Slidell Police Department reports that the first arrest happened at roughly 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. We’re told the driver, Majorie Portier, 26, had just come from a bar and exhibited signs of being impaired.
Portier agreed to a breath alcohol test, which showed she was twice the legal limit. She was arrested and charged with First Offense DWI and Improper Lane Usage.
After bonding out, Portier was pulled over for the same offense at roughly 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 2.
The officer pulled Portier over on Sunday after he noticed she was speeding, swerving and then made an improper turn.
Portier allegedly admitted to her prior arrest the day before and attempted to plea with the officer for mercy.
“Unbeknownst to the officer that Portier was arrested less than a day earlier, she pleaded with the officer not to go to jail for the second night in a row,” Detective Daniel Seuzeneau said in a press release. “Portier, who was once again leaving a bar, submitted a breath alcohol test and she had blood alcohol content over the legal limit.”
Portier was arrested and charged with Second Offense DWI, Speeding, Improper Lane Usage, and Improper Turning.
