Woman arrested for car theft

A Hammond woman was arrested after stealing a vehicle and attempting to flee from police.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that in the early morning hours of September 30, 2010, Deputy Albert Sharp was advised that a green Ford Expedition, occupied by a white female, was reported stolen from a residence on Old Baton Rouge Hwy. While patrolling, Deputy Sharp observed a vehicle matching the description.

Deputy Sharp confirmed the vehicle in sight was the suspect vehicle reported stolen and shined his lights on the SUV. Upon doing so a white female, later identified as Robin Fassler, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Ignoring Sharp’s loud verbal commands to stop, she continued to flee. Deputy Sharp then deployed TPSO K9 Titan. Titan then apprehend Fassler and she was taken into custody without further incident.

After Fassler was arrested, a vehicle search was done. Deputies found property which was reported stolen.

Fassler was arrested and charged with vehicle burglary, auto theft, resisting arrest, and attempting to harm a police dog.
