LORANGER, LA — Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that on Dec. 15, 2011, deputies arrested Stacy M. Badeaux, 34, of Albany, LA. Badeaux was arrested after attempting to set a vehicle on fire and then fleeing on foot from deputies.
After placing Badeaux in custody, she became combative and uncooperative. Badeaux began kicking, screaming profanities and continuously tried to free herself from the handcuffs.
Subsequently, Badeaux was transported to the parish jail and charged with Disturbing the Peace, Simple Escape, Public Intimidation, Simple Arson, Resisting an Officer by Force, and Resisting Arrest.
Deputies responded to a residence on HWY 40 in Loranger regarding Badeaux attempting to set their vehicle on fire. The residents heard noises outside their home. Upon checking, the residents saw Badeaux taking items from the vehicle and placing them on the floor board of the car. They then observed her setting these items on fire. Badeaux fled on foot once she observed deputies arrive. Badeaux was quickly detained.
