NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — A woman was arrested for attempted murder after she allegedly ran a man down with her car. Officials believe it was intentional even though she drove the man to a hospital.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened on Thursday, July 11 at roughly 2:00 p.m. Deputies learned that a 33-year-old male was hit by a car as he was walking down Twenty Arpent Road near Lewis Street.
Detectives say the car that hit the man was being driven by Tamika St. Julien, 32. They say she was involved in an argument with the victim directly before she allegedly ran him over with her car.
Although St. Julien did transport the victim to the hospital, she was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder. She was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition and is expected to survive.
